A man was fatally shot Wednesday night in the New City neighborhood on the South Side.
The person, who was only described as a male, was in an alley about 7 p.m. in the 4800 block of South Elizabeth Street when someone walked up to him and fired shots, Chicago police said.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
No one was in custody.
