A person was fatally struck Wednesday night after a multi-vehicle crash on the Eisenhower Expressway in suburban Broadview.
The person was struck and killed in the westbound lanes of the Eisenhower near 25th Street about 7 p.m. after crossing over the center median, Illinois State Police said. The person was killed after several vehicles crashed in the eastbound lanes of traffic of the Eisenhower, officials said.
One person was hospitalized with minor injuries in the crash, state police said.
Both east and westbound lanes between 25th Street and Mannheim Road were closed for the investigation, authorities said. Westbound lanes reopened about 10:30 p.m. and eastbound lanes reopened about 12:40 a.m.
