A pedestrian was killed in a fatal crash near West Alameda Avenue and South Depew Street early Sunday morning, according to the Lakewood Police Department.

Police responded to the area at approximately 5:25 a.m. Sunday for the crash, police spokesperson Lindsey Lee said in an email. The pedestrian died at the scene.
Lakewood police declined to release any further information about the pedestrian or driver. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and Lakewood police are working to identify the victim and notify next of kin.
The crash closed westbound West Alameda Avenue until 9:45 a.m.
