Pedestrian hit, killed by driver near Denver’s Union Station

A pedestrian died after they were hit by car early Friday morning in Denver’s Union Station neighborhood.

Around 12:30 a.m. Friday, Denver officers responded to reports of a crash involving a motorist and a pedestrian at 15th and Wazee, police said in a statement on social media.

Woman killed in auto-pedestrian crash in Cherry Hills Village

Paramedics transported the pedestrian to the hospital where they later died from their injuries, police said.

“At this time, it appears that the pedestrian was crossing against the signal when they were struck by a motorist who was turning,” police said in the statement.

The investigation is ongoing.

Around 9 a.m. on July 2, another crash two blocks away at 15th and Wewatta sent a bicyclist to the hospital with “serious injuries,” police said. The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.

The area containing both intersections is home to Denver’s Union Station and multiple hotels, restaurants and breweries.
