A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle early Thursday on the outbound Dan Ryan Expressway in Fuller Park on the South Side.
Around 12:25 a.m., a vehicle struck the person in the left lane at 43rd Street, Illinois state police said.
The unidentified person was dead at the scene, state police said. The driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.
Southbound lanes including the Chinatown feeder ramp were reopened around 4 a.m., state police said.
