Patriots Rumor Mill Erupts After A.J. Brown’s Social Media Move

New England Patriots trade target and Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A. J. Brown deactivated his X account on Sunday afternoon. NESN.com’s Evan Cormier reported this.

This move would seem as though it marks the end of Brown’s tenure with the Eagles. We could see Brown traded by Monday at 4:00 PM, marking a new chapter in his NFL career. Although nothing is finalized in terms of the deal just yet, deactivating his social media is a potential sign that things may be happening.

In the meantime, he is establishing a clean slate, quite literally.

Patriots Target Had Strong Run With Eagles

Brown immediately made an impact in his first season with the Eagles. He recorded 88 receptions for 1496 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 17 yards per catch. He exceeded 1,000 receiving yards in every single season he played for Philadelphia. The 2022 season was a solid start, as he broke a franchise record by recording 1.496 receiving yards.

Brown was just getting started as he headed into the 2023 season. He set an all-time NFL record by recording 125-plus receiving yards in six consecutive games. This surpassed a record set by Calvin Johnson. His 106 receptions were the most catches ever by a wide receiver in Eagles history. Brown ended up recording 106 catches for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns that year. He joined teammate Devonta Smith as the first wide receiver tandem in Eagles history to record back-to-back seasons with over 1, 000 receiving yards.
