The New England Patriots released quarterback Josh Dobbs on Monday morning. This was reported by NFL.comâs Ian Rapoport on Monday morning.
Dobbs was brought in to the Patriots organization as an unrestricted free agent from the San Francisco 49ers on March 18, 2025. He was thought of as a backup quarterback for second-year signal -caller Drake Maye. Â He played in four games and completed seven-of-10 pass attempts. He threw for 65 total passing yards and had an 87.5 passer rating.
The Tennessee product saw ample action during the last half of the season. He completed three of four passes for 30 yards against the New York Jets on December 28. The quarterback also went three-of-four for 23 yards in the final quarter of a 38-10 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
