One of the biggest questions facing the Green Bay Packers this offseason is what will happen at left tackle. While expected starter Jordan Morgan has a lot of doubts to overcome, offensive coordinator Adam Stenovich made sure to ease some of the concerns.
Stenovich said that everything he has seen from Morgan at training camp shows he can be their future at left tackle.
At this stage in the offseason, it would be hard for Stenovich to say anything else without killing his player’s confidence. Still, for a player with limited NFL experience at left tackle, it is good to hear that he is currently showing those around him that he belongs.
Green Bay Packers Left Tackle Jordan Morgan Proving He Belongs at Left Tackle
Morgan primarily played left tackle in college. He had no work at any other positions and was a three-year starter at Arizona. In total, he logged 2,392 snaps at left tackle during his college career. So, the experience is there. It is not NFL experience, though.
The team drafted Morgan in the first round, but they did not have a firm plan for him. Many saw him as a guard despite his tackle experience. He did not get any work during the preseason of his rookie season, but he did get work during the first two weeks of the regular season as a rotational right guard.
He played a bit from Weeks 6-8 as well, and then started at left guard in Week 9. Through his rookie year, he had 120 snaps at right guard and 65 snaps at left guard.
In the 2025 preseason, Morgan played some left tackle as he competed with Rasheed Walker. Still, Walker was a returning starter, so he did not get beat. Morgan had 61 snaps at left tackle and 18 snaps at left guard in the preseason.
He got on the field early in the regular season as well, rotating at left and right guard during the first four weeks of the season. Then, from Weeks 9-11, he started at right guard. He started at right tackle in Weeks 16 and 17, then started at left tackle in Week 18.
Overall, he has 51 snaps at left tackle in the regulars season and will now open the year as the starter. Of the four spots he has played on the offensive line, this is the only one where he is under 100 snaps.
Green Bay Packers Do Not Have Competition For Morgan at Left Tackle
The good news for Morgan and perhaps concerning news for Green Bay is that the team does not have much of an option beyond him. Brant Banks is one of the names in competition, but he is currently out with an injury. They also have Darrian Kinnard, but he has been at right tackle because Zach Bako-Bewele has been out.
The rest of the group is inexperienced, and it is hard to see anyone else competing. The team might even have to move Anthony Belton from right guard to left tackle if Morgan struggles.
So, the team is high on Morgan, but they have to be. They do not have other options.
