Oakland: Police ID man stabbed to death inside his apartment

OAKLAND — Police here have identified the man who was stabbed to death inside his apartment on the 1500 block of Jackson Street.

Jason Schweitzer, 55, of Oakland, was found stabbed to death inside an apartment in the Lakeside neighborhood where police had received a report of a deceased resident, authorities said. No arrests have been announced and police haven’t released the suspected motive.

Schweitzer’s body was discovered around 7 p.m. on Jan. 16. He was the second man killed in Oakland that day; about 12 hours earlier, another person was shot and killed on the 300 block of Grand Avenue, authorities said.
