A man suspected of killing his girlfriend in Oakland in 2023 was arrested in Michigan on Jan. 31, the Oakland Police Department announced in a press release.
Jeronimo Pablo Carrillo allegedly shot Yolanda Calmo-Lorenzo, 26, while she lay in bed next to her young child on March 18, 2023, shortly after 5 a.m., police said. The incident occurred at Calmo-Lorenzo’s residence on the 1400 block of 84th Avenue. Calmo-Lorenzo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Carrillo was arrested by United States Marshals in Jackson, Michigan, authorities said. He had been identified as the suspect by investigators.
The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged Carrillo for involvement in the homicide, police said.
