The New York Yankees are slated to begin a three-game series against the Atlanta Braves at Yankee Stadium on Friday night.
Before Friday night’s game, the Yankees got an update on injured stars Cody Bellinger and Carlos Rodón.
New York Yankees Get Cody Bellinger, Carlos Rodón Update Ahead of Braves Series

The Athletic’s Brendan Kuty wrote on X: “Pregame activity here: Grisham, Bellinger taking early BP. Rodón throwing flat ground.”
MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch wrote on X: “Cody Bellinger is again performing agility drills in the Yankee Stadium outfield. So far, so good, though he said this week he is still feeling it in his hamstring.”

Hoch added: “Carlos Rodón is scheduled to pitch three innings tomorrow for @swbrailriders.”
The New York Post’s Greg Joyce wrote on X: “Carlos Rodón will throw close to 50 pitches tomorrow in his first rehab start at Triple-A. Could do one more after that but current plan is to bring him back before he is fully built up and piggyback him.”

Bellinger has been on the injured list since July 26 with a left hamstring strain. He is expected to miss 4-6 weeks from the date he landed on the IL, per multiple reports.
Bellinger represented the Yankees in this summer’s All-Star Game. In 102 games with New York this season, Bellinger has hit .259/.350/.420 with 11 home runs and 53 RBI.
The Yankees re-signed Bellinger to a five-year, $162.5 million contract this offseason. The Yankees acquired him in a trade with the Chicago Cubs in the 2024-25 offseason.
Before playing for the Cubs, Bellinger played for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He won an MVP, Rookie of the Year Award and a World Series ring with Los Angeles.

Rodón has been on the injured list since July 3 with left elbow inflammation. He has made just nine starts this season. In those nine outings, Rodón recorded a 3.30 ERA with 52 strikeouts over 46 1/3 innings.
The Yankees are coming off a 2-1 series loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. They had an off day on Thursday. Their series opener against the Braves is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. EDT on Friday.
