New York Knicks Announce Injury Update On Key Player Before 76ers Game 3

On Friday night, the New York Knicks will be in Philadelphia to play the 76ers for Game 3 of their second-round playoff series.

The Knicks have a 2-0 lead in the series after winning by a score of 108-102 (on Wednesday).

Josh Hart finished the win with five points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals while shooting 2/6 from the field and 1/5 from three-point range in 44 minutes of playing time.

Ahead of Game 3, the Knicks have now announced that Hart has been upgraded to probable.

Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice wrote: “Josh Hart (left thumb sprain) has been upgraded to PROBABLE for Sixers-Knicks Game 3. Previously questionable.”

Hart is in the middle of his fourth year playing for New York.

The former Villanova star finished the 2025-26 regular season with averages of 12.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 50.8% from the field and 41.3% from three-point range in 66 games.

Hart was the 30th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

He spent the first two seasons of his pro career with the Los Angeles Lakers before getting traded to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Following two and a half seasons in New Orleans, the 31-year-old had a quick stint with the Portland Trail Blazers.

His career averages are 10.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 47.5% from the field and 35.0% from three-point range in 596 games.

The Knicks are the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 53-29 record.

They are coming off a series where they beat the Atlanta Hawks in six games.

After falling into a 2-1 hole, the Knicks beat the Hawks in the final three games of the series (and are currently in the middle of a five-game winning streak).

Whoever wins the series between the Knicks and 76ers will advance to the Eastern Conference finals to play the Detroit Pistons or Cleveland Cavaliers.
