New Browns WR KC Concepcion Turns Heads With Bold Message

Shortly after bolstering the offensive line with the addition of Spencer Fano from Utah, the Cleveland Browns completed the second leg of their first-round mission to bolster the offensive line and the receiver room by adding Texas A&M star KC Concepcion. The Browns have long been linked to Concepcion with their second pick in this draft, as he has drawn comparisons to Zay Flowers, the receiver who starred for new head coach Todd Monken while he was the offensive coordinator in Baltimore.

Concepcion has drawn praise for standing up after he was mocked during the NFL draft combine by online knuckleheads for having a stutter that sometimes requires him extra time to answer questions. Concepcion wrote a letter to NFL GMs in The Players Tribune explaining his speech impediment.

He wrote, “My stutter is part of who I am, but it’s not all of who I am. So, I figured … since I’ve got the pen this time, let me tell you the more complete story. Here’s who I also am: I’m the best receiver in this draft. Period.”

KC Concepcion: Browns Fans Should ‘Get the Popcorn Ready’

Sounds bold? Well, the Browns will welcome some swagger in a receiver room that was mostly a disaster in 2025, where Pro Bowler Jerry Jeudy seemed to fall apart on the field with persistent dropped balls and poor route-running, while also falling apart in the locker room with non-existent leadership. Despite that, Jeudy still led the Browns in catches, with 50.

But Concepcion vows that will change for the Browns in 2026. He had a very bold message for the team and its fans after he was picked, and if he can deliver on even a percentage of his promises, he will be a welcome change for Cleveland.

He told reporters , “I’m versatile. I make plays. I can play anywhere. I can run any route. Whenever I get there, you guys are going to be getting a dog all over the field. … I mean my message to Browns fans is to get the popcorn ready. I’m ready right now. I’m ready to play. I’m ready to change the organization.”

A New Anchor for the WR Room

At NFL.com, Concepcion is projected to become a good starter for the Browns within two seasons, and the team’s quarterbacks should immediately take advantage of his quick first step.

From the site’s scouting report: “Concepcion offers immediate burst and separation into space. He’s elusive in beating press and getting into breaks with minimum damage from handsy coverage. While he has a one-speed approach, he can snap off routes with alarming suddenness, making him extremely difficult to match at leveraged break points. He’s instinctive against zone.

“He’s also a nightmare for man coverage on choice routes and near the goal line. He’s quicker than fast, with more value on utility throws utilizing run after catch. Concepcion’s ability to quickly uncover should be very appealing to teams with spotty protection and a young quarterback.”
