The Denver Nuggets are shaping up to look like one of the strongest contenders in the Western Conference.
Although the Oklahoma City Thunder finished first in the Western Conference as the defending champions, and the San Antonio Spurs finished higher than Denver, the Nuggets are entering the NBA Playoffs on a scorching hot streak.
If the Nuggets take down the Thunder on Friday, April 10, they will collect their 10th win in a row. They hold the biggest active win streak in the NBA right now.
The Nuggets aren’t deemed favorites to come out of the West. But they have a chance. And if they manage to make a run, the NBA analyst Vincent Goodwill believes it would be up there with one of the greatest NBA Finals runs of all time.
The Denver Nuggets Can Stun The West

“If they get to the finals, it will be one of the greatest team runs we’ve ever seen, just getting there,” Goodwill said on ESPN.
“You beat Minnesota with Anthony Edwards if it holds right. Then you go and play San Antonio, 60 wins. Then you go and beat–if you beat the Thunder, defending champion, Thunder, 60 wins–the last time I could think of that is probably the Houston Rockets of Hakeem Olajuwon, big man. That’s the road that is facing them. If they are to get there, the West is going to be an absolute blood bath. Get your sleep now.”
The Nuggets are currently holding the third seed in the Western Conference with a 52-28 record. The Los Angeles Lakers trail them by 1.0 games. Denver has Oklahoma City and San Antonio left on the list. They won’t get the full version of OKC. San Antonio is up in the air.

The 2022-2023 NBA season was the Nuggets’ NBA Finals run.
They defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in round one with a 4-1 score. The Phoenix Suns took a 4-2 loss to the Nuggets in the second round.
Denver then defeated the Los Angeles Lakers with a sweep in the Wstern Conference Finals. The dark horse Miami Heat had a great run, but came up short with a 4-1 loss against the Nuggets.
After their last Finals victory, the Nuggets have made the playoffs twice. They lost in the second round each time. Last season, the Nuggets were taken out 4-3 by the Thunder. This year, they hope to find different results.
