NBA All-Star Weekend Concert Guide: Here’s everything you need to know

The NBA sure knows how to throw a party.

And local hoops fans and other interested parties will get to experience it firsthand as the NBA All-Star Weekend takes over the Bay Area Feb. 14-16.

Of course, the main event will occur when the best of the West take on their counterparts from the East at the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 16 at the Golden State Warriors’ Chase Center in San Francisco. Yet, there will be plenty of action happening on other days and at other spots — including at the Warriors previous home of Oakland Arena.

(And if you are hanging out around Thrive City outside Chase Center, here are 5 great places to nosh.)

And there is a lot more happening than just hoops. Notably, there is a terrific live music element — featuring a variety of entertainers — which is part of the overall shebang.

So, that means you can catch such acclaimed headliners as Chance the Rapper and Noah Kahan before watching — either in person or on TV/online — the Warriors’ Steph Curry and his fellow Western Conference All-Stars (hopefully) triumph over the hoopsters from the East.

All of these All-Star Weekend concerts are happening at Pier 48, which is located not far from Chase Center.

Here is a look at the offerings:

Chance the Rapper

The Grammy-winning hip-hop star will be tipping off the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities in a musical fashion as he headlines the NBA on TNT American Express Road Show on Feb. 13.

That’s the good news. The even better news is that admission is free. But you need to have a ticket to enter, so reserve your Chane the Rapper tickets (while supplies last), https://bit.ly/nbaontntroadshowsanfran.

Hailing from Chicago, Chance the Rapper rose to fame with the release of the mixtape “Acid Rap” in 2013. The follow-up mixtape, 2016’s “Coloring Book,” was a smash hit that peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. It also became the first mixtape to win a Grammy — in this case for best rap album — in 2017. That same year, Chance the Rapper took home the best new artist trophy.

The event will also feature TNT’s Inside the NBA studio team of Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal, who will be providing live pre-game/halftime/postgame coverage of Oklahoma City Thunder/Minnesota Timberwolves game that same night. There will also be other basketball-related attractions.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

Zedd, Flo Rida

The All-Star Weekend Concert Series kicks into gear with a doubleheader of Zedd and Flo Rida on Feb. 14.

Zedd is a top-selling DJ/producer who got off to a quick start in his recording career, as the title track from his debut album — 2012’s “Clarity” — broke into the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and nabbed the trophy for best dance recording at the 56th Grammy Awards. Since then, Zedd has helped fashion such smashes as “Stay” (featuring Alessia Cara) and “The Middle” (featuring Maren Morris and Grey).

Speaking of getting off to a hot start, Flo Rida — who, yes indeed, hails from the great state of Florida — saw his 2007 debut single “Low” hit No. 1 and then stay there for 10 weeks. The tune (featuring T-Pain) went on to reportedly become the most downloaded single of that decade. Since that awesome start, Flo Rida has released such popular numbers as “Right Round” (featuring Kesha), “Club Can’t Handle Me” (featuring David Guetta), “Good Feeling” and “Wild Ones” (featuring Sia).

Zedd and Flo Rida tickets start at $100, https://nbaevents.nba.com/all-star-concerts. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. The show, officially dubbed the Friday Night Michelob ULTRA Courtside Concert, is a 21 and over event.

Listen to (Zedd): “Stay,” “Stay the Night”

Listen to (Flo Rida): “Low,” “Wild Ones”

Noah Kahan

Night 2 of the series brings one of this biggest concert attractions on the planet — the amazingly popular Noah Kahan — who is headlining a number of major festivals in 2025 (including NorCal’s own BottleRock Napa Valley on May 25).

The Vermont-born folk-pop star has been on an absolute tear in recent years, watching his popularity skyrocket ever since the release of his third album, “Stick Season,” in 2022. So, expect a full house when Kahan performs during this concert, which is officially called the NBA on TNT American Express All-Star Celebration.

Given Kahan’s immense popularity, it’s no real surprise that admission to this show is only available to folks who purchase the whole three-day concert package. (At least that was the case the last time we checked.) Those passes start at $270, https://nbaevents.nba.com/all-star-concerts. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.

2 Chainz, Chainsmokers

Following the big game (and, hopefully, Curry and the Western Conference’s big win), fans can head over to Pier 48 to catch the NBA All-Star Postgame Concert.

2 Chainz and the Chainsmokers are co-headlining the event, although we’d be more interested in seeing the former than the latter.

2 Chainz is a talented Georgia rapper, who first drew attention in the music world as one-half of the Southern hip-hop duo Playaz Circle. Since signing a solo deal with Def Jam Recordings in 2012, 2 Chainz has seen his popularity soar with such hits as “No Lie” (featuring Drake) and “Birthday Song” (featuring Kanye West). He’s also reportedly a solid hoopster, having attended Alabama State University on a basketball scholarship back in the ’90s.

The Chainsmokers were absolutely massive in the 2010s, thanks to an impressive succession of platinum-certified hits that included “This Feeling” (featuring Kelsea Ballerini), “Sick Boy,” “Something Just Like This” (featuring Coldplay) and “Paris.” Yet, that was then and this is now — and the once-deafening buzz has definitely quieted down for this talented DJ duo, which could certainly use another smash hit right about now.

Showtime is 7:30 p.m. 2 Chainz and Chainsmokers tickets start at $100, https://nbaevents.nba.com/all-star-concerts.

Listen to (2 Chainz): “We Own It (Fast & Furious)” (with Wiz Khalifa), “Birthday Song”

Listen to (Chainsmokers): “Closer,” “Paris”
