Mobile lottery tickets available for first time in Colorado

Colorado Lottery players now can buy tickets without leaving the house.

Jackpot.com has launched in Colorado, allowing players to order and play official state lottery tickets and scratchers from their mobile phones and other devices. The website will allow players in Colorado to instantly buy tickets for nationwide games such as Mega Millions and Powerball, as well as Colorado lottery games.

The platform purchases tickets on behalf of its customers from an official state lottery retailer, displaying a scan of their ticket and transferring winnings under $600 in real-time to their account. For prizes greater than $600, Jackpot.com securely delivers the ticket to the winning player so they can collect the winnings from the Colorado Lottery, according to the Nov. 13 announcement from Jackpot.com.

Jackpot.com hopes that their platform will reduce the amount of unclaimed lottery winnings. “There are billions of dollars of winnings that have gone unclaimed,” said Akshay Khanna, founder and CEO of Jackpot.com. With the mobile app, winners will automatically receive winnings in their account, eliminating the chance of missing a prize just because a player forgets to check their ticket.

Another aspect of Jackpot.com’s platform is working to provide players with ethical gaming practices, such as ensuring that players are 18 or older and also includes daily deposit limits and daily purchase limits.
