Metra is adding an extra holiday-themed train to its schedule this season due to popular demand.
Previously scheduled for four dates across six lines, the additional experience will be on Nov. 30 on the Metra Electric Line, the agency announced Monday. The $5 tickets will go on sale at noon Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Tickets for the previously scheduled holiday-themed trains went on sale Nov. 11 and sold out within minutes. Metra said it expects this additional experience to sell out quickly too.
The extra train will depart from University Park Station at 4 p.m. Nov. 30 and then stop at the North Pole winter wonderland at Millennium Station, which will feature holiday treats and activities. Riders can either depart with the holiday-themed train from Millennium Station or stay downtown and use their ticket to take any scheduled train back.
Tickets can be purchased at shop.metra.com.
The CTA has not yet released schedules for its holiday-themed buses and trains.
