The Golden police officer who was killed last week in a suspected DUI crash on Colorado 58 will be honored in a private memorial service on Wednesday, according to Colorado’s Fallen Hero Foundation.
Evan Dunn, 33, was killed in the line of duty while responding to a crash on Colorado 58 last Wednesday night, Golden police officials said. His partner, officer Bethany Grusing, was also seriously injured.
The service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mission Hills Church — 620 Southpark Drive in Littleton, foundation officials said.
“Officer Dunn’s family and the Golden Police Department greatly appreciate all of the outreach and condolences from the community; however, the memorial services will not be open to the public,” the release stated.
West County Line Road will be closed from Lucent Boulevard to South Elati Street starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday for the funeral procession, according to the release. Traffic will also be restricted on roads around the church.
Community members wanting to support Dunn’s family can stand along the County Line closure or at the Golden Police Department Memorial, police said.
