Maxx Crosby Trade is Off, Giving Seahawks Great News

The Seattle Seahawks were in the running to get Las Vegas Raiders edge Maxx Crosby to this Super Bowl-winning team, but that dream seemed to end when he signed with the Baltimore Ravens. But, never say never, and according to a report on Tuesday, March 10, from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Ravens have officially backed out of their deal to trade for Crosby.

“Ravens backed out of the Maxx Crosby trade,” Schefter shared on X. That leaves an opening for the Seahawks to swoop in and get him.

The deal is over, and Seattle is now able to revisit the idea of bringing Crosby north to Seattle. The original the deal was to trade the five-time Pro-Bowl defensive end to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for 2026 and 2027 first-round picks, so Seattle will have to pay up if they want him in the form of draft picks.

Maxx Crosby’s Goodbye Message Said He Wanted to Retire as a Las Vegas Raiders Player

On Saturday, March 7, Crosby took to social media to express his views on the trade. During the 2025 NFL regular season, according to NFL research, Crosby recorded 73 total tackles, 10 sacks, 28 tackles for loss and one interception.

“Raider Nation has given me everything,” Crosby said. “My family, had the chance to get married, have the most beautiful daughter in the world, grow as a man, as a player, as a leader, a human being. One thing I could say is above all else is that I gave you everything I got and I have no regrets about that. I put everything into trying to win as a Raider.”

Crosby also said that he understood why the Raiders traded him away and didn’t feel bad about it. “I have zero ill will towards that organization in any way,” Crosby said. “I want them to have all the success in the world.”

Maxx Crosby ‘Decided to Be Quiet’ During the Trade Process

He also gave insight into how he went about the trade process. “I decided to be quiet because there is so much noise, and ultimately, I’m a football player,” Crosby said in the video message. “That’s my job. It’s to get healthy, to be the best version of myself. Not to be in drama, not to be involved with all the other stuff.”

So, what went wrong with this deal? The information will surface in the coming weeks. For now, Crosby is an available player again, and any NFL team could trade for him, including the Seahawks. Seattle has more funds available after letting Kenneth Walker III go, which helps.

“I wanted everything good for the Raiders,” Crosby said. “I bleed silver and black. That will never change and I’m a Raider for life. And I truly wanna finish when it’s all said and done, in a Raiders jersey, whenever that time comes.”

So, Crosby says he is a Raider for life, but now, he’s back on the trading block. If the Seahawks see the edge as a valuable enough role, they’ll be on the phone with him as soon as possible.
