Man refuses to exit running garbage truck in Campbell

BURGLARY: 9:30 p.m. in the 200 block of North San Tomas Aquino Road. Someone broke the window of a vehicle and attempted to steal it. The suspect also stole the airbag, horn and $5 in coins from the vehicle.

VANDALISM: 9 p.m. in the 00 block of West Campbell Avenue. Unknown in the S. spray painted graffiti and broke the toilet paper dispenser in the men’s bathroom.

May 21

EXHIBIT DEADLY WEAPON: 5 p.m. in the 2100 block of South Bascom Avenue. Officers responded to a call for service where a man threatened the victim with a knife. The suspect told officers he did not threaten the victim.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, PARAPHERNALIA: 6:08 p.m. in the 300 block of Union Avenue. Three suspects were reported using narcotics in a private parking lot. All three were found to be under the influence and arrested. Suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found within arm’s reach of two suspects.

DUI: 4 a.m. in the 1800 block of South Bascom Avenue. A driver was contacted for a reported solo vehicle collision. They were found to be DUI and placed under arrest.

VANDALISM: 6 p.m. in the 300 block of Budd Avenue. Someone wrote on the bathroom walls.

VANDALISM: 6 p.m. in the 600 block of East Campbell Avenue. Someone wrote on the bathroom walls.

VANDALISM: 2:55 a.m. in the 1600 block of Palo Santo Drive. Someone broke the back driver’s side window on a vehicle. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival due to the victim yelling.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 2:03 a.m. in the 100 block of Friar Way. A man was contacted after entering a backyard without permission, yelling for help and then climbing a roof. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and arrested.

SEXUAL BATTERY: 5:03 p.m. in the 900 block of West Hamilton Avenue. The suspect grabbed the victim’s buttocks against the victim’s will.

P0SSESSION OF A BLANK CHECK, CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, UNLAWFUL PARAPHERNALIA AND BURGLARY TOOLS: 2:45 p.m. in the 400 block of East Hamilton Avenue. During a search, a revolver frame was located in the suspect’s car, along with meth, glass smoking pipes and checks not belonging to him.

PETTY THEFT: 1:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Richlee Drive. Someone stole a box from the victim’s porch.

CORPORAL INJURY ON CHILD: 8 a.m. in the 300 block of Union Avenue. A student disclosed to school staff that he was allegedly hit during breakfast at his home. Child Protective Services was advised of the incident.

ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON: 6:15 a.m. in the 2200 block of South Bascom Avenue. Officers responded to a report of a store clerk hitting a customer with a stick. The suspect told officers he did not hit the victim, who had visible injuries from the stick. The victim did not desire prosecution.

May 23

PETTY THEFT: 11:58 a.m. in the 2300 block of Winchester Boulevard. The suspect entered a business and stole a candy bar worth $3. The business desired prosecution.

PETTY THEFT: 10:26 a.m. in the 500 block of East Hamilton Avenue. A woman entered a business with a large duffle bag and later concealed merchandise on her person in the bathroom and passed all points of sale without paying. The merchandise was valued at $43.72 worth of merchandise. She was later contacted and admitted to stealing.

GRAND THEFT: 6:12 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Bascom Avenue. Someone entered a business, stole approximately $950 worth of merchandise and left without paying for the items.

GRAND THEFT: 8:31 p.m. in the 1700 block South Bascom Avenue. Someone entered an open business and lifted the glass on top of a display case and grabbed numerous fragrances. He concealed the product, valued at $972, on his person and left the store without paying.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 3:33 a.m. at South Central Avenue and Orchard City Drive. A man got into a running garbage truck and refused to get out. He was found to be drunk in public.

BATTERY, DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 2:14 a.m. in the 2300 block of Winchester Boulevard. A man headbutted the victim after a disagreement. He fled the area on foot and was located by officers a short distance away.

DUI: 1:07 a.m. at North Midway Street and Ridgeley Drive. A vehicle was idling in the middle of the street. The driver was asleep in the driver’s seat with the car in drive. Open containers of alcohol were located in the vehicle, and the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

BATTERY: 3:15 p.m. in the 900 block of East Hamilton Avenue. During an argument at work, a man punched his coworker in the face, pushed him onto the ground and wrapped his arms around him.

CAUSING INJURY TO AN OLDER ADULT: 9:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Elam Avenue. Someone walked up and hit an elderly victim for no apparent reason, causing swelling to his right eye.

BURGLARY: 5:31 a.m. in the 00 block of Cristich Lane. The suspect arrived at a closed and secured business in a 2016 red Dodge Challenger and forcibly entered the open parking lot. They burglarized two work vans belonging to the business and stole approximately $1,700 worth of miscellaneous items.

BURGLARY: 5:12 a.m. in the 1300 block of Camden Avenue. Two suspects arrived at an underground parking lot in a black 2005 Ford F-150 and burglarized a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta. They stole approximately $400 worth of items and fled the scene.

May 25

POSSESSION OF PARAPHERNALIA: 12:25 a.m. in the 1300 block of South Winchester Boulevard. A woman was contacted after being seen in the backseat of a parked vehicle with another occupant in a parking lot. The vehicle had an expired registration but was displaying a current tag. The woman admitted to being in possession of a glass smoking pipe.

DUI: 4:21 a.m. at San Tomas Expressway and West Hamilton Avenue. A man was found asleep behind the wheel of his Audi sedan and was found to be DUI.

DUI CAUSING BODILY INJURY: 2:09 a.m. at East Hamilton and South Bascom avenues. A man was involved in a vehicle accident. He hit a pedestrian, causing injury. The man displayed objective signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. He admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages and had bloodshot, watery eyes.

DUI: 12:59 a.m. at South Winchester Boulevard and Payne Avenue. A woman was stopped for a vehicle code violation and found to be DUI.

DUI: 4:02 p.m. at South Winchester Boulevard and West Hamilton Avenue. A man was driving on the wrong side of the road. He was stopped and found to be DUI.

PETTY THEFT: 4:12 a.m. in the 900 block of Connie Drive. Someone stole trashcans from a driveway. The trashcans were recovered from the suspect’s driveway and returned.

POSSESSION OF PARAPHERNALIA: 11:40 p.m. at South Bascom and East Hamilton avenues. A woman was stopped for riding her bike on the sidewalk. She was found to be in possession of a glass smoking pipe with burn residue.

GRAND THEFT: 5:15 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Bascom Avenue. Someone stole a purse valued at $2,800 from a bench.

May 27

DUI, DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 2:45 a.m. in the 700 block of Nido Drive. A woman and a man were involved in a disturbance in front of an apartment complex. The woman was found to have been driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was arrested for being drunk in public.

DUI: 12:40 a.m. at Salmar and East Hamilton avenues. A driver was stopped for vehicle code violations and was found to be DUI.
