Man killed by deputy outside Main Event in Highlands Ranch was accomplice of suspected shooter, sheriff says

Investigators believe that the man killed by a Douglas County deputy responding to an active shooting at a Highlands Ranch arcade earlier this month was an accomplice of the suspected shooter.

Jalin Seabron, a 23-year-old man from unincorporated Arapahoe County, was shot and killed by a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy in the parking lot of Main Event in Highlands Ranch just before midnight on Feb. 8, sheriff’s officials said.

Sheriff’s officials said the arcade shooting, which started as a fight between two women inside a Main Event bathroom, spilled out into the arcade and its parking lot as “dozens of customers ran for cover.”

Nevaeha Crowley-Sanders, a 23-year-old woman who faces 104 charges in the shooting — including five counts of attempted murder and 49 other felonies — exited the arcade with Seabron after firing eight shots at the 22-year-old victim inside the arcade, according to investigators.

The victim, a friend of Crowley-Sanders from high school, was injured in her left heel, right leg and upper right rib cage near her armpit, according to court documents.

Sheriff’s officials said Seabron was also armed with a handgun, repeatedly pointed his weapon at people and refused multiple commands from the Douglas County deputy to drop his weapon. When Seabron turned toward the deputy, he was shot.

“Life-saving efforts” were made, according to the sheriff’s office, but Seabron died from his injuries in the parking lot.

Crowley-Sanders is next scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 27 and is currently being held in custody on a $1 million bond, according to court records.
