Man fatally shot during fight in River North

A man was fatally shot early Sunday during a fight in the River North neighborhood.

About 3:15 a.m., an argument between two males on a sidewalk in the 500 block of North Franklin Street turned physical, when one male pulled out a firearm and began shooting, Chicago police said.

A man, believed to be about 25, was struck multiple times in the chest, authorities said. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The other male fled the scene, according to police.

There was no one in custody. Area Three detectives are investigating.
