Man dies after being shot in Humboldt Park

A man was fatally shot while riding in a car Friday night in Humboldt Park.

The man, 38, was the passenger of a car traveling in the 400 block of North Springfield Avenue about 9:50 p.m. when someone opened fire, Chicago police said.

He suffered gunshot wounds to his face and chest. He was driven in the same car to Stroger Hospital, where he died, police said.

No arrests had been reported as of late Friday. The man’s name has not been released.
