Man dies after being found unresponsive at Jefferson County jail

A 64-year-old man died after he was found unresponsive in his cell at the Jefferson County Detention Center on Saturday night.

Jail staff found Glenn Perdreaux in his cell during a routine walk of the facility at 11:25 p.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Monday.

Deputies and medical staff started CPR and gave him naloxone before Golden Fire Department and EMS crews arrived. Perdreaux was pronounced dead at midnight.

Perdreaux was arrested on suspicion of drug-related charges by Lakewood police on Saturday. His death will be investigated by the 1st Judicial District Critical Response Team.
