A domestic shooting has left a man dead and a woman seriously hurt Tuesday morning inside an Austin neighborhood home.
Paramedics were called to the 5400 block of West Ferdinand Street about 8:40 a.m., where they found a man about 60 dead on the scene, according to the Chicago fire department. The unidentified man suffered two gunshot wound to the head.
“They’re struggling over the pistol and it went off,” said police scanner traffic of the incident.
A 39-year-old woman who suffered a gunshot wound to the left thigh was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, though she had been stabilized, the fire department said.
Area 4 detectives are investigating.
