Man charged with murder after Denver shooting victim dies

A 56-year-old man has been charged with murder after a shooting in Denver last month turned fatal Monday, according to court records.

Timothy McGlothin was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a shooting in the 1100 block of East Colfax Avenue sent one person to the hospital on Feb. 3, according to the Denver Police Department.

A month after the shooting, police said the victim had died.

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner identified the victim as 45-year-old Leon Jackson.

McGlothin faces three felony charges, including first-degree murder, first-degree assault and possession of a weapon by a previous offender, according to Denver County Court records.

He is next scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on March 11.
