Officers were called to the area of Clifton Road and Waterford Street just before 9 p.m. for a report of a person down in the street, Pacifica police Sgt. Thomas Cumming said in a news release.
The victim told officers he was standing outside his parked Lexus when a blue sedan pulled up behind him. Cumming said a man got out, demanded money from the victim and assaulted him.
The suspect then entered the victim’s car, searched the interior and took several items, Cumming said. Afterward, he got back in the blue sedan and drove away from the scene.
The victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The suspect was described as heavyset Black man with a beard. He was last seen wearing blue or black jeans.
