Lincoln Square crash leaves 2 women hurt

Two women were hurt early Thursday when their vehicle lost control and slammed into two planters in Lincoln Square on the North Side.

Just before 3 a.m., the women, 28 and 45, were in a gray sedan in the 2500 block of West Lawrence Avenue when the vehicle lost control and struck two planters before stopping in the street, Chicago police said.

The older woman suffered trauma from the crash and was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital where she was in fair condition, officials said.

The younger woman suffered a cut to her face and was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where she was in good condition, police said.

One of the planters rolled to a building and broke a window, authorities said.

No citations were issued.
