A Libertyville man has been charged with sending threatening letters to judges in Florida and Texas, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
James Lebuhn, 65, is charged with two counts of mailing a threatening communication, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
He is accused of sending threatening letters to U.S. District Court judges in Amarillo, Texas, and Fort Pierce, Florida, though charging documents didn’t detail the threats made in the letters or when they were sent.
“The Chicago U.S. Attorney’s Office is committed to holding accountable anyone who seeks to intimidate and instill fear in members of the federal government, including the esteemed public servants on the bench,” said U.S. Attorney Andrew S. Boutros.
Lebuhn is set to appear in court March 26 in front of U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis.
