A new report is shedding light on when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may hold their highly anticipated wedding. With Swift and Kansas City Chiefs legend Kelce fast approaching their big day, the report cites what it says are leaks from sources close to the couple. Those leaks point to â among details likely to grab Swift fansâ attention â a new, more specific timeline for when the Swift-Kelce wedding would take place.
Swift and Kelce, the Chiefsâ future Hall of Fame tight end, appear likely to hold their wedding sometime before July 22, according to details reported by the Daily Mail newspaper on Thursday.
“Four sources have exclusively confirmed to the Daily Mail that the tight end and his superstar fiancée, Taylor Swift, both 36, will tie the knot this summer before the new football season kicks off,” reported Mail U.S. senior showbiz exclusives editor Eileen Reslen.
When Will Swift and Kelce Hold Their Wedding?
But Kelce just signed a new, one-year, $12 million contract with the Chiefs for what will almost certainly be, with Kelce turning 37 in October, his final season. It seems highly unlikely that he would take a significant amount of time away from training camp for the wedding.
Presumably, Kelce will invite a number of his teammates on the Chiefs to the wedding â meaning that they would need to skip training camp days as well. But Chiefs training camp opens on July 22, with the first full team practice on July 23.
According to the Daily Mail leaks, “Everybody [loved ones, close friends] has been told to put the summer on hold and they will find out the details right before the wedding,” a source said.
In addition, per the Mail, “a second source confirmed the nuptials will definitely take place prior to football season and that Kelce will be able to attend his full training camp schedule.”
What does that mean? Assuming that a couple with the resources of Swift and Kelce would take a honeymoon of three weeks, and that Kelce would want a week to collect himself, that would push the date back to no later than June 17 â a time frame that lines up nicely with the Saturday, June 13 date that has been reported widely in the media, though not confirmed by the couple or their representatives.
Wedding Planned For Indoor Venue: Leak
Another leak contained in the Daily Mail report allegedly reveals another important detail â despite being held in the summer, the Swift-Kelce wedding will be held indoors.
“Taylor doesn’t want it to be like Selena’s wedding,” a Mail insider source continued, referring to the recent nuptials of the pop star’s best friend Selena Gomez â who wed Benny Blanco in white marquees outdoors at the Sea Crest Nursery in Santa Barbara, California, last October.
The Mail report also included details about guests who are likely to attend â and one who, the report says, will not.
“Aside from the couple’s respective families, Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany Mahomes are expected to attend, as well as Gomez and Blanco,” Reslen wrote in her Thursday report. “But it will surprise no one that Swift’s BFF-turned-enemy Blake Lively is unlikely to receive an invite, our sources said.”
Swift, according to media reports, became estranged from her former friend â The Age of Adaline star Lively â after she felt that she was wrongly dragged into Lively’s legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.
