Late Greg Biffle Honored With Launch of Family Legacy Impact Fund

The family of the late Greg Biffle announced the formation of the Biffle Family Legacy Impact Fund on January 29 in the wake of the NASCAR star’s tragic death last month. Biffle, along with his wife, Cristina, his two children, and three others were killed in a plane crash on December 18 in Statesville, North Carolina.

The Fund was established in partnership with the Foundation For The Carolinas, and plans to honor Biffle and his family by “supporting hands-on, compassionate solutions that meet real needs.”

“Through intentional giving and community partnership, the fund invests in people, communities and causes that restore hope, strengthen resilience, and create lasting, positive change,” the website reads.

During his post-racing life, Greg Biffle was recognized for his generosity and willingness to help others, most notably during his efforts in helping those in need in the Carolinas following Hurricane Helene in September 2024.

The Fund was started in an effort to honor that legacy and carry on the commitment of giving back to communities.

“It ensures that spirit continues by supporting meaningful work and impact across a wide range of charitable causes. We have partnered with Foundation For The Carolinas, whose expertise and guidance have been invaluable as we take this step,” via a statement from Greg and Cristina’s family.

Charlotte Memorial Service Honored Biffle, Others Killed on December 18

Back on January 16, members of the NASCAR community came in droves to honor the late Greg Biffle, his family, and the others lost in the December 18 plane crash. A memorial service was held at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina, where many of Greg Biffle’s friends and family were in attendance to pay their respects.

Among them was Garrett Mitchell, known by his influencer name Cleetus McFarland, who has made part-time appearances in the ARCA Racing Series and was a dear friend of Biffle. At the memorial, McFarland gave a speech about his late friend and explained what it’s like to “Be Like Biff,” a homage to the late driver’s nickname.

“That means to take opportunities when you see them. Whether you are taking the opportunity to pass somebody on the track or getting off your couch to chase a dream you have only been talking about for the past five years. It means showing up for your friends and family. It means using your heart to make the world a better place. It means being generous whenever you can and helping other humans when they’re down. That is what it means to be like Biff,” McFarland said.

RFK Racing to Honor Greg Biffle Throughout 2026 Season

Throughout his entire racing career, Greg Biffle piloted the #16 Ford for Roush Fenway Racing. Now known as RFK Racing, co-owned by Brad Keselowski and Jack Roush, the team will pay homage to the late driver throughout the 2026 season.

The tribute to the 19-time Cup Series winner will begin with the Cook Out Clash on February 1 as each of RFK Racing’s team cars will carry a circular memorial decal above the car’s B-post. In this year’s Daytona 500 on February, each of RFK Racing’s cars will sport numerals with the same font as the one familiar with Biffle’s famed #16 car.

Biffle piloted the #16 machine from 2003-2016, winning 19 races and finishing runner-up in the Cup Series in 2005.
