Kenneth Walker III News Emerges at Seahawks’ Super Bowl Week

Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III is in final year of his four-year, $8.44 million rookie contract with the Seahawks, and what a way to end the deal. Walker’s appearance in the team’s NFC Championship game against the Los Angeles Rams saw him clocking 19 carries for 62 rushing yards and a touchdown, according to NFL research. Those numbers helped Seattle beat the Rams in a 31-27 final score to send the Seahawks to the Super Bowl.

So, Walker wants to get paid, and he’s likely up for a historic contract. But first, there’s the business of the Super Bowl and seeing the Seahawks go up against the New England Patriots in San Francisco.

During a pre-Super Bowl LX press conference, Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald discussed how the team is prepping for the showdown. “We drill the fundamentals of tackling and finishing every day,” Macdonald said. “We do it as a team, we do it in our warmup before games. It’s part of our DNA and the guys take a lot of pride in it.”

He also emphasized the importance of the team’s great defense, noting, “We just made kind of a pact with each other: We’re going to be a great defense no matter what it takes, and they bought in. It didn’t happen overnight, but that’s the type of stuff and the dedication it takes, moving in the same direction to actually make this thing come to life.”

Head-Scratching Kenneth Walker III News During Super Bowl Week

As a reporter at Super Bowl week, one would think one of the best players to interview would be Walker, the Seahawks’ star running back. But, his time in San Francisco has been unexpectedly quiet. According to ESPN NFL reporter Jeff Darlington, reporters haven’t been clamoring to talk to Walker.

“I’ve been around the Seahawks each of the last three days, and it’s pretty wild how little media attention Kenneth Walker III is getting,” he noted on X. “He’s not your typical ‘talker,’ and he’s pretty soft spoken. But like, this dude could wind up at the Super Bowl MVP. And he’s just…hanging.”

“Chenna looks so happy snapping that pic of Ken. Man I wish I was there. Go Hawks,” one follower said. “Ken is very low profile and humble guy. A perfect team player never complained about workloads and willingly shared his workload with RB Charb who unfortunately out for the season,” another said.

Seattle Seahawks Running Back Kenneth Walker III Discusses His Team

After the Rams win, Walker was asked how it feels to get the support of his team. “It feels good,” he said, according to the team’s official transcript. “It was unfortunate for Zach (Charbonnet), but he knows we got his back and I know he got my back as well. It feels good to know my teammates support me in that way to see me like that.”

Walked added, “We’re hard to stop when everybody’s clicking. The whole line doing their job, the receivers doing their job, running backs and tight ends. We’re hard to stop because we have so many weapons.”
