Josh Hart Sends Shots at 76ers Fans After Knicks Sweep

The New York Knicks’ fan base has successfully taken over Philadelphia for a second playoff series in under three years.

Many in attendance for Sunday’s Game 4 action between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Knicks noted that it was the worst crowd for the Sixers in a very long time, due to the lopsided turnout in favor of New York fans.

The Sixers didn’t give the visiting crowd a reason to quiet down early on, which amplified the sound of a takeover happening in South Philly.

After the Knicks successfully completed the sweep with a blowout score of 144-114, Knicks forward Josh Hart sent shots at Philadelphia.

Josh Hart Gets Honest On Philadelphia’s Reputation

“I used to think Philly was a sports town,” Hart told reporters, according to Kristian Winfield. “I don’t know anymore.”

Hart knows the city well, considering he played at Villanova from 2013 to 2017. During his time spent in the NCAA with the Wildcats, Hart and his Nova Knicks teammates received a ton of support from Philly fans.

With the Sixers and the Knicks being division rivals, Hart certainly doesn’t receive that support anymore. The standout veteran made sure to leave the series with a comment that stings.

Friday and Sunday’s turnouts for the Sixers certainly don’t reflect the actual state of support for Philly sports as a whole, but it’s very clear that the Sixers’ reputation is damaged. With another second-round exit—and the second sweep in six years—the Sixers are struggling to keep fans sold on their potential in the future.
