Jason Heyward Makes Post After Heartbreaking Atlanta Braves News

On Saturday night, the Atlanta Braves will continue their series with the Los Angeles Dodgers in California.

The Braves lost 3-1 on Friday.

Ahead of Saturday’s game, the news came out that Hall of Famer Bobby Cox had passed away at the age of 84.

Yahoo Sports wrote: “Legendary Braves manager Bobby Cox died on Saturday at age 84, the team announced. Cox led Atlanta to 14 straight division titles, five National League pennants and a World Series title in 1995 before being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014.”

Following the news, former Braves star Jason Heyward made a heartfelt post to Instagram.

Heyward wrote: “Mr. Bobby Cox. My original skipper ❤️ Thank you for everything you’ve done for the game of baseball. Thank you for what you’ve done for the many of people you’ve come across in this life. My condolences to the family 🙏🏾”

Heyward’s rookie year with the Braves was Cox’s final season as the team’s manager.
