James Cook Sends Fiery 2-Word Message on Josh Allen After Bills Playoff Win

For the first time in 33 years, the Buffalo Bills have won a road playoff games.

The Bills trailed 17-13 early in the fourth quarter, but thanks to a 15-yard touchdown pass from Josh Allen to Dalton Kincaid, and a 1-yard Allen rushing touchdown, Buffalo pulled off a 27-24 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It also marked the first road playoff win of Allen’s career. Entering Sunday, Allen ranked first among QBs in total yards per game (311), rushing yards (668), and touchdown/interception ratio (6.25) in postseason history.

Though safety Cole Bishop recorded the game-sealing interception of Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence, few would argue it was Allen’s heroics that willed the Bills to victory.

In true playoff form, Allen had one of his better performances on the season.

The reigning MVP completed 28 of 35 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown, and he rushed for 33 yards and two more scores—including the game-winner—prompting his running back James Cook to rave about his performance on social media after the win.

“17 💯,” Cook wrote on X with a message that said “on to next week.”

Sunday’s win was the third time Allen rushed for two or more touchdowns in a playoff game, and it marked the seventh time Allen scored three or more touchdowns in a playoff game.

Allen also made NFL history with his standout performance.

“Josh Allen is the first player in NFL history to complete at least 80% of his passes (min. 5 attempts) and rush for multiple touchdowns in a playoff game,” OptaStats wrote on X.

After the game, reporters stated that Allen seemed exhausted like he’d just run the gauntlet. Head coach Sean McDermott expressed protecting Allen is paramount but this is also the job he signed up for.

“He’s a warrior,” McDermott said. “That’s the name of the game: you’ve got a quarterback, they’re going to want to hit the quarterback, they’re going to want to affect the quarterback. They’ve got a great defensive line over there that rushes well — a couple first-round picks.”

Who Do the Bills Play in the Divisional Round?

After taking out the No. 3 seed Jaguars, the Bills will now wait and see who their opponent is in the AFC divisional round.

Buffalo has four potential playoff opponents.

If the No. 2 seed New England Patriots beat the no. 7 seed Los Angeles Chargers, the Bills will travel to Denver next weekend to play the top-seeded Denver Broncos. If the Chargers pull the upset, however, that changes things drastically.

The Chargers would then travel to Denver as the lowest-seeded team remaining in the playoff field, which would send the Bills to play the winner of the matchup between the No. 4 Pittsburgh Steelers and No. 5 Houston Texans.

Buffalo lost 23-19 to Houston in Week 12 of the regular season and won 26-7 over Pittsburgh the following week.

The Bills won’t see the division rival Patriots until the AFC Championship Game, should both advance out of the divisional round. Buffalo went 1-1 against New England during the regular season.
