Indiana man wanted in shooting death of ex-wife arrested on Near West Side

A Hammond, Indiana, man wanted in the fatal shooting of his ex-wife was arrested Wednesday on the Near West Side.

Allen Oscar Woods, 39, was wanted in the shooting death of his ex-wife, Tiffany Woods, who he allegedly shot multiple times Dec. 27, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Woods fled Indiana to the Chicago area to evade capture, authorities said.

Authorities received a tip about an individual matching Woods’ description about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday near the 1200 block of South Canal Street.

Members of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force and Chicago police responded to the call and found him inside a local establishment in the 1400 block of South Canal Street.
