We wrap up Go & Show with the last one for the winter. Think of it as another spring sign. There are a couple things coming up in the next few months, but this is basically it.
- The big show is the Illinois Deer Classic ,Friday through Sunday, March 21-23, at the Peoria Civic Center. I will truly miss going to this, but it falls on the weekend of the first two rounds of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. I will be in Michigan relaxing, fishing, hiking and watching games as my picks fall like dominoes, as I have for decades.
- The Riverside Fishing Club swap meet is 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 22, at the Berwyn Moose Lodge.
- Hike the Nite, a two-hour night hike to celebrate Earth Hour, is Saturday, March 22, at Orland Grasslands. Meet at 6:45 p.m. at the parking lot on 167th. RSVP or for information, contact Pat Hayes at ptihys@comcast.net.
- Farther afield, the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo is Friday through Sunday, March 21-23, at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Texas. It’s been a few years since I’ve attended a Classic.
