ICF selects largest HOF class and expands awards

The Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame is making its own history. The ICF announced its largest class last week for the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame, which will be inducted in the spring of 2025 at the ICF Gala. Among the seven nominees were Matt Mullady, who will be part of the first father-and-son pairing to make the Illinois Outdoor HOF. The ICF also announced the start of the Illinois Outdoor Excellence Awards, to be celebrated at the same time.

Joining Mullady, an advocate/teacher/former guide for the Kankakee River, are Angela Funk, Henry Eilers, Jeremiah Haas, Rich McElligott, Terry Wunderle, and Thomas Foss. I’m proud to have interactions with more than half of them. Details are at dnr.illinois.gov/press-release.30511.html.

Nominations for the Outdoor Excellence Awards–Outdoor Writer/Author of he Year, Outdoor Volunteer Organization of the Year, Outdoor Business/Business Owner of the Year, Outdoor Influncer of the Year–must be in by Oct. 31 and may be submitted online or call (217) 785-2003 for more information.
