Hulu’s “Dear Santa” picks Denver girl for Season 2 debut

Hulu’s “Dear Santa: The Series” returns for a new season next week with an initial episode that features a Denver girl and her quest for percussive glory.

The kid-friendly show, now entering its second season after a 2022 debut, follows United States Postal Service workers and regular folks as they write and deliver letters to Santa, work with children, and otherwise navigate the joyous, uncertain holidays.

Specifically, the show focuses on USPS’s 112-year-old Operation Santa program. It will begin streaming on ABC’s Localish Network, which is free to stream via cable providers and apps such as FreeVee, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube TV on Monday, Nov. 25. It will begin streaming on Hulu Friday, Nov. 29.

“For this new season, the filmmakers followed postal worker volunteers and kids/families who are recipients of the program in Denver and other cities,” producers wrote in a statement. “The five-episode miniseries about USPS Operation Santa debuts in major markets, including New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and San Francisco.”

In Denver, producers followed Zealey, “a little female rocker in the making who dreams of a sparkly drum set.” Her wish is for them to be as loud as possible (good luck, parents).

The show comes from the director of “Batkid Begins” and “Pick of the Litter,” and the producers of the 2020 documentary, “Dear Santa,” producers said.
