There are three WNBA games scheduled on Saturday, August 8. One of those matchups is the Minnesota Lynx welcoming the Las Vegas Aces to the Target Center.
It’s the second Aces vs. Lynx game of the season, with Las Vegas pulling off a 100-97 win on June 13 at the Michelob Ultra Arena. This will also be a matchup between two of the best teams in the league at the moment.
Plus a duel between two of the best players in the world today in reigning MVP A’ja Wilson of the Aces and last year’s runner-up Napheesa Collier of the Lynx.

Today’s game between the Las Vegas Aces and Minnesota Lynx will be nationally televised on CBS. It will be held at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST.
The game will also be streamed live on Paramount+, Fubo TV and WNBA League Pass, which are all paid subscriptions.
Aces vs. Lynx Preview
The Las Vegas Aces are in the middle of a five-game road trip that started on August 1 against the Chicago Sky. They lost that game in Chicago but beat the Atlanta Dream and Indiana Fever in their next two games.
The Aces have a record of 22-9 and are 13-4 on the road this season. They have won seven of their last 10 games, with A’ja Wilson averaging 28.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.0 blocks during that span. She’s shooting 54.1% from the field, 47.8% from 3-point range and 90.2% from the free-throw line.
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Lynx are coming off a shocking 89-82 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks that snapped their 10-game winning streak. They are also in the middle of a four-game homestand.
The Lynx are own the best record in the WNBA at 25-7. They surprisingly don’t have the best record at home at just 13-5, though they are still tough to beat at the Target Center.

Napheesa Collier is averaging 18.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals on 48.7% shooting from the floor, 40.3% from beyond the arc and 83.3% from the charity stripe since returning from offseason double ankle surgery.
Olivia Miles and Kayla McBride have picked up the slack for the Lynx in Collier’s absence. Miles is putting up 19.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.3 steals, while McBride is averaging 17.7 points per game.
Aces vs. Lynx This Season
The Las Vegas Aces and Minnesota Lynx faced off for the first time this season on June 13. It was a back-and-forth matchup that saw Olivia Miles play like an All-Star as a rookie. Miles finished with 29 points, but the Lynx were unable to play good defense down the stretch.
A’ja Wilson got to the free-throw line late and sunk two shots to give the Aces a 98-97 lead. Miles missed the go-ahead stepback 3-point shot with seven seconds left, with Chelsea Gray giving the defending champs a 100-97 win.
Wilson had 24 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and three blocks, while Gray contributed 23 points, four rebounds, seven assists and two steals.
