Houston Astros Player Acquired By New MLB Team Before Yankees Game

On Friday, the Houston Astros will open up a series with the New York Yankees (at home) in Texas.

The Astros are coming off a season where they took two out of three from the Cleveland Guardians.

Before Friday’s game, the Astros announced that one of their players had been claimed by the Minnesota Twins.

Mark Berman wrote: “From the Astros: RHP Christian Roa has been claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Twins…Roa was designated for assignment on Tuesday.”

Roa appeared in seven games for the Astros (this season).

He went 0-1 with a 5.19 ERA.

The Astros are currently the last-place team in the American League West with a 10-16 record in 26 games.

They are 7-6 in the 13 games they have played at home in Houston.

Following the Yankees, the Astros will visit the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday.

Last season, they missed the MLB playoffs.

The Twins are the third-place team in the American League Central with a 12-12 record in 24 games.

They will look to win their series with the New York Mets on Thursday at Citi Field.

Following the Mets, the Twins will visit the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday.

Last season, they missed the playoffs.
