Since it’s the final day of the regular season, it’s also time for NBA teams to pay their luxury tax bills.

According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks the Warriors are one of the seven teams who have a bill to pay for their roster.

Marks wrote: “7 teams will finish over the luxury tax and pay a penalty

– Cleveland ($68.7M) – Golden State (67.9M) – New York ($44.4M) – LA Lakers ($22.2M) – Houston ($7.2M) – LA Clippers ($6.7M) – Minnesota ($6M) –

Projected payment to the 23 teams is $4.9M

This is the lowest tax distribution since 2020-21″

Looking At The Warriors

Fans of the Warriors can at least be happy to know that their ownership group is still willing to spend big money.

That said, it’s worth noting they are the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 37-44 record in 81 games.

They will have to win their way through the play-in tournament in order to reach the 2026 NBA playoffs.

The franchise has been unable to return to the NBA Finals since the 2022 season.

In addition to the team’s high payroll, the Warriors are also paying head coach Steve Kerr a lot of money.

Adrian Wojnarowski wrote on (on February 23, 2024): “Golden State’s Steve Kerr has agreed on a two-year, $35 million contract extension, Rick Smith and Dan Eveloff of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. Kerr’s new deal makes him the highest paid coach in league history at $17.5M a year.”

According to Spotrac, the team’s most highly paid players are Steph Curry ($59.6 million), Jimmy Butler ($54.1 million), Kristaps Porzingis ($30.7 million), Draymond Green ($25.9 million) and Moses Moody ($11.6 million).

The Warriors will go into an intriguing offseason with their roster (and head coach).
