The girl, who police believe is 6 years old, was getting off of the bus with her aunt when she walked into the roadway and was struck by a pickup truck that sped away from the crash, Aurora Police Department spokesperson Joe Moylan said.
Police responded to the scene at 4:18 p.m. and the girl was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, Moylan said.
The truck was described as being “all blacked out,” Moylan said. Anyone with information about the crash can call 911 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
