Giants RB Cam Skattebo Shares Promising Injury Update at the Super Bowl After Brutal Injury

The 2025 NFL season was forgettable, to say the least, for the storied New York Giants franchise, as the squad finished with a disappointing 4-13 record, forcing the team to focus more on the 2026 NFL Draft and the future.

At one point during the 2025 campaign, the Giants looked like an exciting young team, with some budding stars leading the way.

After wide receiver Malik Nabers went down with a season-ending knee injury, the attention turned to quarterback Jaxson Dart, after he became the starter, and running back Cam Skattebo, who became a rising star before he suffered a season-ending injury.

Fortunately for Skattebo, the rising star seems to be making some progress in his recovery from injury, as he gave an update on his status ahead of Super Bowl LX.

“Obviously not running,’’ Skattebo told The Post on Friday on Radio Row at the Super Bowl. “I just got out of the long process of getting back healthy, and I still have a bone healing, so I’m getting back into it and having a good time.’’

Skattebo claims he’s “learned a lot” about himself during this process and coming to terms with the fact that this will be his life for the next decade if all goes well with the Giants and in the NFL in general.

“I broke my ankle so I’ve learned a lot about myself, who I am and what I’ve done in the process of getting healthy and what I really want in life and living without football sucks,’’ Skattebo said. “Just understanding that this is what I’m gonna do for hopefully the next 10 years, that’s my plan, that’s my goal. I’m a football player, that’s who I am.’’

With the Giants recently hiring John Harbaugh to be their new head coach and having three young stars on offense to build around in Dart, Nabers and Skattebo, the future looks bright in New York, as four-time Super Bowl champions appear to be trending up.

Giants QB Jaxson Dart Sends Strong Message to Critics

One of the most promising signs of a bright future in New York is the emergence of Dart as a potential franchise quarterback. Although he takes a lot of risks on the football field, which puts his long-term health in danger, there’s no doubting his talent.

Despite the Giants’ only winning four games during the 2025 campaign, Dart put up some big numbers after replacing Russell Wilson as the team’s leader under center, but he fell short of the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award, which has apparently put a chip on his shoulder, via SNY.

“Turn off the pictures of the players and look at the numbers, I feel like they speak for themselves, I don’t need to argue that. I have a lot of respect for the other guys who were part of it, It’s just a chip on my shoulder, for sure — I definitely feel disrespected,” Dart said.

It’ll be interesting to see what Dart can accomplish from here on out, as he’ll have the talent around him and the ideal head coach to help him reach his true potential in the NFL.
