Antetokounmpo posting this on the same day made many NBA fans believe that he was posting this as an Easter egg for fans to find from a subtle background angle of the jersey.
Boston will likely look at multiple big moves on the market this summer after a disappointing exit. The Celtics were the favorites to make the NBA Finals representing the East the last two years and fell short of even making the Eastern Conference Finals.
Change may be needed for the talented Boston roster to get over the hump and get another title after the 2024 NBA Championship. Giannis is certainly the biggest fish on the market to explore trading.
What Boston Would Trade For Giannis
The biggest question in a potential Giannis to Boston trade focuses on whether the Celtics are willing to sacrifice Jaylen Brown. Milwaukee Bucks management will clearly need Brown since the young prospects in Boston aren’t good enough to be the best players in a trade for a two-time MVP.
Brown and multiple draft picks will likely be the main trade package that the Bucks seek to have a faster rebuild. Recent comments from Brown implied that he preferred playing without Tatum for most of this season and getting to be the clear best player on a roster.
Milwaukee would make Brown their new face of the franchise and try to win now since they lack their own draft picks for the foreseeable future. However, the Celtics must truly believe that Antetokounmpo will be there for many years if they are going to trade a former NBA Finals MVP still in his prime coming off a dream season.
Giannis Has Shown More Interest Elsewhere
Boston would likely have to convince Giannis to sign a long-term contract extension since rumors have linked him to other teams. Antetokounmpo would reportedly love to play for the New York Knicks or Miami Heat due to the location and roster construction making it easier to contend.
The Celtics could easily get on the list since they offer the best chance to contend for a title with a great organization behind him. However, Giannis only has one guaranteed year left on his contract to make a trade for him quite dangerous.
Boston will not even consider trading Brown for Antetokounmpo unless the latter makes it clear he wants to play there for the rest of his prime. The social media post made Celtics fans get excited about the potential of adding a top five player to the roster and winning more rings with Giannis and Tatum.
