Full UFC 329 Card Announced by Dana White

The full UFC 329 card was announced by UFC president Dana White while the MVP MMA: Rousey vs. Carano card was taking place on Netflix.

While Francis Ngannou was walking to the cage for his MVP MMA fight against Philipe Lins, White went on his Instagram live and revealed the entire lineup for UFC 329, including the main event rematch between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway, finally being made official.

Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway 2 Headlines UFC 329

The crown jewel of White’s announcement was the official booking of McGregor vs. Holloway 2, a bout that has been rumored for quite some time, but is only now official for UFC 329. The fight will take place at welterweight and will be contested for five rounds with no title on the line. For McGregor, it will be his first UFC fight in five years, while for Holloway, he is coming off a decision loss to Charles Oliveira earlier this year and will be looking to rebound from that defeat.

In addition to the McGregor vs. Holloway 2 fight, the UFC also announced several other brand new fights for UFC 329.

One very intriguing matchup features flyweights Brandon Royval and Lone’er Kavanagh going at it. Royval is one of the top flyweights in the sport today, but after Kavanagh had a breakout performance against Brandon Moreno earlier this year, many believe he could be a future UFC champion. So, this should be a very interesting fight to see how it plays out.

As well, heavyweight prospect Gable Steveson finally had his UFC debut officially revealed as he will take on Elisa Ellison to open up the main card. Steveson, who is a former Olympian in freestyle wrestling plus an NFL player for the Buffalo Bills practice squad, will be a monster favorite over Ellison, who is 0-1 in the UFC. This is a massive mismatch, but Steveson is very new to the sport, so clearly the UFC matchmakers are trying to build him up.

Most of the other fights announced were already known, such as Benoit Saint Denis vs. Paddy Pimblett at lightweight, and Robert Whittaker vs. Nikita Krylov at light heavyweight. But with McGregor vs. Holloway 2 being announced, this UFC 329 card is going to be a massive event.

There is also a middleweight bout between Zachary Reese and Ryan Gandra that is slated to take place at UFC 329, though the promotion did not officially announce it as part of the lineup unveiling for this summer’s blockbuster event in Las Vegas.
