Fremont: Police shoot person after carjacking report

FREMONT — Police shot and wounded a person suspected in a carjacking Sunday morning, authorities said.

According to Fremont police, officers were called around 9 a.m. to a parking lot in the 44000 block of Osgood Road, near Automall Parkway, for a report of a carjacking. Records show that the Skyway Plaza shopping center, which includes a Walmart, is located on that block.

Officers were told that the suspect — described by police only as an adult in a Sunday news release — was carrying a knife and had left the scene before police arrived.
