Francisco Lindor Shares Honest Juan Soto Message Amid Mets’ Losing Streak

The New York Mets have gone through the wringer over the past two weeks with a 12-game losing streak. It’s the longest in the Mets franchise history since 2002, and New York has fallen to 7-16, which is the worst record in Major League Baseball.

One of the biggest reasons you can point to for some of the losses is the absence of Juan Soto. Juan Soto has missed the last 15 games, but is set to return to the lineup on Wednesday. However, how much is Juan Soto really going to change things? Francisco Lindor, who has been on the field for all of the losses, had an honest message to Soto amid his return.

The Mets desperately need Juan Soto to change things upon immediate return. There are very few MLB teams across baseball’s history that have made the playoffs after enduring such a bad losings stretch.

In his postgame interview after the 5-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday, Lindor said he hopes everyone doesn’t put all the pressure on Soto when he returns:

“He’s gonna help us a lot,” Lindor said of Soto. I said that from the beginning, he’s a guy that every lineup wish they had. We have the opportunity here to have him, and we can’t wait to have him back to do his thing. At the end of the day, I hope everybody doesn’t put all the pressure on him because it would be a little unfair.”

Lindor is right, the pressure can’t be on Juan Soto, and Soto is pretty much the only player that is ‘safe’ from blame.

Who is to Blame for New York Mets 12-Game Losing Streak?

The New York Mets have not won since April 7.

At some point, the manager needs to start getting some of the blame. It’s a situation where it’s almost hard to keep losing at this rate.

New York has been swept in three straight series, and is on the verge of losing its fifth straight MLB series.

They’ve scored 22 runs in the last 12 games. Pitching has kept them in most of the games, but in Sunday’s and Tuesday’s losses, the Mets had a lead in the late innings and could not finish with a win. Someone in the organization needs to be the scapegoat because it’s clear that change needs to be made.

And with Soto returning, there’s only so much one player can do, but New York can not lose at this rate with Soto in the lineup. It’s frustrating for everyone in the organization, and Francisco Lindor is also probably feeling the pressure on another level.
