A two-alarm fire tore through a house in Orinda on Monday morning, authorities said.
The blaze began around 10:15 a.m. at a house on Las Palomas, according to Dennis Rein, a spokesman for the Moraga-Orinda Fire District. Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting out of the house, and at least two truck companies were summoned to attack the blaze, he said.
The cause of the fire remains unclear. Fire crews from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District were called to help extinguish the blaze.
