Firefighter hospitalized after fire at Roseland furniture store

A Chicago firefighter was hospitalized Thursday night after battling a large blaze at a furniture store in Roseland.

A mayday alert was issued during the fire at the building in the 11200 block of South Michigan Avenue, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Rapid Intervention Team members found the firefighter, who was taken to a hospital in good condition, officials said. He was expected to be released from the hospital.

The fire was still burning as of 8:30 p.m., according to the fire department.
